Clever uses for WD-40 around the home

For some 60 years, people have been using WD-40 to fix a variety of problems. Whether you're degreasing a bike chain, lubricating a sliding door, or removing water stains from the toilet, it's likely that you've discovered the magic of WD-40 in one way or another. The water-displacing spray can be utilized both in the house and on the job.
WD-40 also has some unorthodox uses you may not be aware of. For instance, it can be used to remove permanent markings on a hardwood floor. If your child created a masterpiece on the dining room floor, grab your canister and get to work.

You may have heard of someone using butter or oil to help remove a tight/stuck ring. If you find yourself in this unfortunate position, ditch the dairy products and grab a can of WD-40. Spray liberally around the area.
Over time, scum will accumulate on many of your kitchen appliances. Use the popular penetrating oil to get rid of said scum.
Gunky build-up on your kitchen shears? Spray with WD-40 to clean and restore to proper use.
Stained stove top? Rather than scrubbing with a sponge for hours, just apply WD-40. It should do the trick - both quickly and effectively.
